Julianna Javier

Julianna Javier is an interdisciplinary artist based in Mammoth Lakes, California and the face behind Belongs to the woods, a platform exploring the space where inner woods merge with breathing landscapes.

Rooted in a lifelong practice of lucid dreaming- and influenced by contemplative traditions such as dream yoga- Julianna approaches consciousness as both subject and medium. By cultivating awareness within the dream state, she consciously observes recurring symbols and psychological patterns as they arise, treating the subconscious as an active site of investigation. This internal practice is mirrored by her physical engagement with the Sierra Nevada landscape through hiking and snowboarding, where movement, scale, and shifting terrain heighten her sense of presence and perception. Together, inner and outer explorations inform a body of work that examines awareness across environments - dreamscapes and landscapes.

Working with pen & Ink, acrylics, ceramics, and mixed-media, Julianna develops a visual language that moves fluidly between two- and three-dimensional forms. Each medium becomes a different entry point into the same inquiry: how perception shapes reality, and how awareness can be embodied through material form.

She studied Fine Art at Florida Gulf Coast University earning her Bachelor of Arts. Then pursued her interest in the art of storytelling with a BFA in Illustration from Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design in Denver, Colorado where she was first inspired by the mountains.
